Terms and conditions of sale

Scope

These terms apply to bookings made on the website Escales & Clés with Escales & Clés SAS (société fictive de démonstration), acting in the name and on behalf of the owners of the properties under a management mandate. The landlord is the owner of the property, whose identity is stated in the rental contract. By booking, the guest accepts these terms and the conditions shown on the property page.

Booking

The guest chooses the dates and number of guests; the price is shown in full before booking. The guest sends a booking request, without payment; the dates are held for 3 days while the landlord replies. Without a reply within that time, the request is cancelled. If the landlord accepts it, the guest receives by email the link to their guest space, where they read the rental agreement and choose how to pay among the methods offered. The booking is confirmed once the requested payment (deposit or full amount) is received; if the payment is not received within the stated time, the landlord may cancel the request.

Prices and tourist tax

Prices are in euros and include all taxes. The tourist tax is collected on behalf of the municipality: its rate per person and per night (or its percentage) depends on the municipality and the property’s classification, is shown in the price breakdown before payment and stated separately on the invoice.

Payment

Online payments are processed securely by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers. Any balance is charged automatically before arrival according to the schedule shown at booking. A security deposit may be requested; its amount and refund period are stated on the property page and in the contract.

Cancellation

Cancellation by the guest: the terms of each property are shown on its page and accepted at booking. Default terms: - Cancellation at least 30 days before arrival: 100 % of the stay refunded. - Cancellation at least 14 days before arrival: 50 % of the stay refunded. - Cancellation less than 14 days before arrival: no refund.. Cancellation by the landlord: the guest is refunded all amounts paid.

No right of withdrawal

Under Article L221-28 12° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to accommodation provided on a specific date.

Stay

Check-in and check-out times, maximum occupancy and house rules are stated on the property page and in the rental contract. The guest uses the property peacefully and returns it in the condition it was found.

Furnished holiday rentals

Furnished holiday rentals (meublés de tourisme, French Tourism Code art. L324-1 et seq.) are let to guests who do not make them their home, for at most 90 consecutive days. A written rental contract is sent before arrival. Where the municipality requires it, the registration number is shown on the property page.

Guest rooms (chambres d’hôtes)

Guest rooms (French Tourism Code art. L324-3) are let by the night with breakfast and household linen included, in the host’s home, up to 5 rooms and 15 guests.

Complaints and mediation

Any complaint can be sent to contact@escales-et-cles.test. If no solution is found, the guest may refer the dispute free of charge to the consumer mediator: Médiateur fictif de démonstration.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by French law. A consumer may bring proceedings before the court of their place of residence or the place where the property is located.
